AI assistant integration

read your Relic library with AI

Relic’s remote MCP server gives supported AI assistants user-authorized access to your private reading library. They read it to answer your questions, and your dictionary is the one place they can write.

what it can read

The integration can list and search your books, search highlights and notes, search the words you have saved, and summarize reading activity for seven days, thirty days, or all time.

what it can save

When you ask for it, the assistant can save one word and its meaning to your Relic dictionary. That definition comes from the sentence you were actually reading, which is what a dictionary entry usually cannot give you. Each entry is stored marked as written by an assistant, so you can always tell which ones to review, and saving a word you already saved updates that entry instead of adding a second one.

what it cannot do

Saving a word is the only thing the integration can write, and no tool can delete. It cannot create, change, publish, favorite, or delete any book, highlight, note, account setting, or subscription, and it can never reach another reader’s library.

access requirements

You need a Relic account with an active subscription or trial. During connection, Relic asks you to sign in and approve access through OAuth 2.1. Authorization and subscription status are checked for every request.

connect

After Relic is approved in the ChatGPT and Claude directories, open the plugin or connector listing, choose Connect, sign in to Relic, and approve the permissions shown on the consent screen. Availability depends on each platform’s marketplace review and rollout.

example requests

Try “find my highlights about memory,” “what books have I saved by Ursula K. Le Guin?”, “summarize my reading activity for the last 30 days,” or “what does obsequious mean here? save it to my dictionary.”
