terms of service

These terms govern your use of Relic, including its mobile app, website, backend services, and optional AI assistant connections. By using Relic, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in methods secure and for activity performed through your account. Information you provide must be accurate. Relic is not intended for children under 13.

your content

You keep ownership of the books metadata, highlights, notes, saved words, and other content you add to Relic. You give Relic permission to store and process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service. You must have the right to upload or import it.

subscriptions

Paid access is sold through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple’s billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules. Features described as subscriber-only, including AI assistant connections, are available only while Relic confirms an active subscription or trial.

AI assistant connections

You may authorize a supported AI service to read selected Relic data on your behalf, and to save a word and its meaning to your Relic dictionary when you ask it to. Your dictionary is the only thing the connection can write. It cannot create, edit, or delete a book, a highlight, or a note, and it cannot delete anything. The AI service may generate inaccurate or incomplete answers, including in definitions it saves, so verify important results against your library. Your use of ChatGPT, Claude, or another provider is also governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.

acceptable use

Do not misuse Relic, bypass subscription or access controls, probe other users’ data, interfere with the service, automate abusive traffic, or use Relic in violation of law or third-party rights.

service changes

Relic may update, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with platform requirements, or improve the product. When practical, material changes will be communicated through the app or website.

warranties and liability

Relic is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Relic does not guarantee uninterrupted service or the accuracy of AI-generated answers. Relic is not liable for indirect or consequential losses where such limitations are permitted. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

termination

You may stop using Relic and delete your account in the app. Relic may suspend access for material violations, security threats, or legal requirements. Provisions that by their nature should survive will continue after termination.
