privacy policy

Relic helps readers save highlights, reading notes, dictionary words, Kindle imports, and widgets. This policy explains what data Relic collects, how it is used, and how it can be deleted.

data we collect

Relic collects account identifiers such as user ID and email address, plus the reading content you choose to save: books, highlights, notes, dictionary entries, reading sessions, Kindle sync state, and widget preferences. If you use cover picking or dictation, iOS may ask for photo library, microphone, and speech recognition permissions. Relic only uses those permissions for the feature you started.

how data is used

Data is used to provide core app functionality: authentication, syncing your library, saving reading progress, generating dictionary entries, showing widgets, and restoring subscription access. Relic does not sell your personal data and does not use tracking.

service providers

Relic uses trusted providers to operate the app, including Supabase for authentication and database storage, RevenueCat for subscription status, Apple services for App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple, and hosting providers for backend and website infrastructure. Providers are used only to support Relic functionality and must protect user data under their own security and privacy commitments.

retention and deletion

Relic keeps account and reading data while your account exists or while it is needed to provide the service. You can delete your account inside the app from Settings. Account deletion removes Relic-owned account records and associated reading data, unless retention is legally required. You can also request help at privacy@therelic.app.

subscriptions

Subscription purchases and billing are handled by Apple through the App Store. Relic receives subscription status through RevenueCat so paid access can be unlocked or restored in the app. RevenueCat may process purchase history for subscription entitlement checks, restore purchases, and App Store subscription support.

children

Relic is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

changes

This policy may be updated as Relic changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
